Find adjacent borrowed tones in guitar and piano voicings.

Borrowing Runner is a guitar and piano game for finding adjacent borrowed tones in a voicing. Sign in with any account, including Free, to play.

Play a voicing

  1. Choose a key, chord family, voicing type and instrument in Setup.
  2. Start the run and find the red note. Tap the adjacent scale tone in the requested pitch direction. Higher pitch is toward higher frets on guitar.
  3. Use 1 or 2 on your keyboard for one or two semitones in that direction. Space pauses.

Modes and review

Challenge gives you three lives. Sprint lasts one minute. Practice is endless and unscored. Normal and Hard change the pace; Still mode replaces scrolling with a timer.

Recent completed runs, matching-setup bests and missed or slow shape review stay in this browser. The game keeps its learning separate from other tools.

Share a setup

Share opens a fresh paused game for another signed-in player. It does not include scores or learning; changes to a shared session do not replace personal preferences. Sound starts only after play begins.
