Troubleshooting
Start with the small checks.
These steps cover the most common browser, audio, MIDI, sharing, and account problems without changing your saved work.
Sound
No sound plays
- Press a play or preview control once. Browsers often require a direct tap or click before audio can begin.
- Check the tool’s sound and volume controls, then check the device volume and output.
- Close another app that may be holding the audio device, then reload the page.
- Try a current Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge window without private browsing restrictions.
MIDI
A MIDI device is missing
- Connect and power the device before opening the tool.
- Allow MIDI access when the browser asks, then select the device inside the tool.
- If no prompt appears, review the site permissions for barelyharris.com and reload.
- Reconnect the cable or device and try another supported browser. Browser and device support varies.
Never include MIDI device data in a support report. Name the device model in your own words if it matters.
Display
Notes or controls are missing
- Check the selected instrument, key, scale, voicing, and current access level.
- Return browser zoom to 100%, rotate a phone to portrait, or widen the window.
- Reload the page. If a shared link was used, reopen the original link rather than rebuilding it from memory.
Sharing
A shared link will not open correctly
- Copy the complete link, including everything after
# when present. - Confirm that the link opens the expected tool. A setup for one tool cannot be imported into another.
- If a short link service is unavailable, use the full link offered by the tool.
- A share restores supported example state; it does not grant restricted editing or account access.
Account
Sign-in is not completing
- Use the same browser tab through the complete Google or email-code flow.
- For email sign-in, use the newest code and check spam or junk folders.
- Allow essential cookies for barelyharris.com, then retry from the sign-in page.
- If you remain locked out, the support form works without signing in.
Saved work
Settings or work seem to be gone
- Return to the same browser and device. Many tool preferences and authored items are stored locally.
- Check that you did not open a private window or clear site data.
- Check the active profile, tool mode, access, and instrument selection.
- Do not repeatedly save over the state. Send a report first if the missing work matters.
