Start a question

Select one or more Playback Modes. Blue modes are included in the rotation.
Select the intervals that can appear under Intervals In Rotation.
Choose Generate New Interval and listen.
Choose the interval name you heard. The guitar or piano then reveals the answer.
Use Replay Interval to hear the same notes again.

Understand the playback modes

The mode controls whether the notes sound together or one at a time, and whether the interval note is above or below the root. You can turn on several modes; each new question chooses from the blue selections.

“Inverted” changes which interval note is below the other; it does not mean that the fretboard picture is merely turned around. The labels shown after an answer identify the root and the interval note directly.

Switch between guitar and piano

Use the Guitar / Piano switch in the Bebop Workshop header or the app’s Instrument menu. They stay linked: changing either one changes the other. The selected instrument controls both the display and the playback sound.

Phone landscape: the instrument and answer choices fill the main view. Choose Settings to change playback modes, interval rotation, instrument, volume, or auto advance, then choose Done to return to the question.

Hints and Easy mode

Hint: Reveals the two positions without their labels. After you use a hint, that guess is not saved in your stats.
Easy mode: Shows the two unlabeled positions as soon as each question begins. Choose Hint to add the labels.

Control what happens after an answer

With Auto advance on, the next question is generated after the number of seconds in Advance time. Turn Auto advance off when you want each revealed answer to remain until you choose Generate New Interval. Replaying during the countdown pauses it until playback finishes.

Read your results

Session Summary shows attempts, accuracy, and streaks since this page was opened. All Time uses the saved results in this browser. Open View Stats for totals by playback mode and interval, or to clear the saved totals.
